Why the multiplier is exactly 1.852

One international nautical mile is 1.852 kilometres and one knot is one nautical mile per hour. The hour is unchanged, so multiplying the numerical speed by 1.852 gives kilometres per hour. This is a definition-based unit conversion, not a GPS estimate. A handy mental approximation may be enough for conversation, but use the fixed factor for a calculation you want to reproduce. No location, weather or vessel information belongs in that multiplier.

Check a decimal example before rounding
